Home Sellers: Your Motivation to Sell-How Strong is Your "Why"

A lot of times, money can get in the way of purpose. There may be some very strong reasons for you to sell your home like a transfer to a new job, a family issue like a divorce or death in the family a financial situation that forces you to sell. Or perhaps you just want a change or a bigger home or you may be downsizing.
· Transfer-it's a done deal, you have a new job and you must move...
· Family-it's growing, it's morphing, and it's a major cause for you to make a change
· Money-unfortunately, especially today, some of us bought too much house and got stung with scary mortgages, so you may be one who has to sell. Or, maybe you want to use your equity dot something else, make a lifestyle change or whatever
· Health-you or a member of your family has a health issue which precludes staying in the home
· Life changing event-stuff happens! Divorce, bankruptcy, a death of a loved one-these are serious events which can changes your housing needs.
· Move up-maybe you just want bigger and better. GO for it!
· Downsize-Baby boomers are a market segment that are doing a lot of this.
It's been my experience that people DO want to move on with their lives for whatever reason, but, too many seem to get caught up with "getting all they can for their home." The last penny a home seller may be trying to eke out of a buyer will too often kill a deal and prevent them from achieving their initial purpose-to sell their home for their WHY-the major reason they want to sell.
